Answered Prayers

In the financial crisis of 2008, I was newly married and losing everything. I had been trying to sell the house for a while, and I even tried to auction it before it was finally sold. I was late with all of my payments, utilities, and even had to park in the garage so my vehicle would not get repossessed.

One day I stopped by my Mom's house to visit her, but when I went inside, I realized she was not there. I sat down in one of the chairs in her foyer to process everything that was going on and try to figure out a solution to my most pressing financial problems. I received a disconnect notice from the utility company, and Verizon was about to cut off my cell phone because I was behind on the payment.

As I sat down, I put my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands and prayed for Jesus to help me. Help me figure out a way to get some money in the middle of this chaos. As I lifted my head, I saw my aunt walking up my Mother's front steps with something in her hand. I opened the door, and she handed me a check for $500.

She lived directly across the street from my Mom, saw me pull up, and wanted to catch me while I was there. I had not told her about the predicament I was in, nor did I ask her for anything. God had touched her heart at that moment I was praying and used her to answer my prayer.
